It has been demonstrated that GaAs nanowire solar cells are suitable for space application as their radiation hardness is much higher than that of planar cells. Nano-Tandem projects pushes forward the substrate-free synthesis technique called Aerotaxy, which offers a radical reduction of the cell cost. In Aerotaxy, nanowires grow from seed particles directly in the gas phase, and the resulting nanowire aerosol can be transferred into an ink for storage and further processing. Our research focuses on determining the material and structural response to mechanical and temperature loads applied on macro-sized components through continuum mechanics formulations solved by, for example, the finite element method and peridynamics, as well as on nano-sized structures studied through molecular dynamic simulations and at Head of Lund Nano Lab leading the day-to-day work of Lund Nano Lab, providing strategic planning and responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Nano Lab. Responsibility for budget and setting goals in alignment with NanoLund’s strategic plan and in consultation with NanoLund’s leadership and LNL’s reference groups.
